Economist | Director of Empirical Analysis and Academia
Carlos leads the development and application of quantitative methodologies for economic and financial analysis, promoting the use of econometric and data science tools at FK Economics. Additionally, he coordinates academic engagement through training sessions, student events, and the supervision of thesis projects for the Master’s in Applied Economics at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile.
In the field of economic consulting, he provides economic and financial advisory services as an expert witness in litigation and arbitration, as well as conducting internal consulting for companies. His expertise in expert reports includes estimating lost profits, direct damages, and competition analysis, participating in national and international arbitrations across various industries and markets.
Academically, he currently teaches Introduction to Economics at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and at the Military Academy in partnership with the same institution. He also has a notable academic publication, On the Geography of Vintage-Specific Restrictions, in the journal Resource and Energy Economics, co-authored with Nano Barahona and Felipe Sepúlveda.
